Community Participation

Explorer families are asked to volunteer one hour per month to support community activities. Participation in the community supports a wide range of activities on campus further educating the whole child and bringing our community together.
 
Options for community volunteering can be classroom-specific (i.e. Cooking, Science, Music, PE, Classroom Coordinator, or Field Trip Coordinator) OR school-wide (i.e. Project Cornerstone, Art, Lunch-Time Activities, Academic Events, Social Events, Carnival, etc.)

Special Activities and Event Leads

Specific events and activities will be organized by a parent who has chosen to champion and organize this event or activity for the school. The Event Lead will team up with a Board member to recruit volunteers and plan resources.  Two community members can choose to be co-leads as well.
 
  • Box Tops Lead (Collect and send in box tops monthly)
  • Earth Day Lead (Organize Earth Day events)
  • Holiday Craft Fair Lead (Organize vendors and plan Holiday Craft Fair)
  • Newsletter Lead (One newsletter per month)
  • Otter-pop Sales Lead (12:30 on Teacher Learning Days)
  • Movie Night Lead (Organize movie night for the school)
  • Multicultural Festival Lead (Organize the "nation booths" and volunteers for this event)
  • Family Dance Lead (Organize activities for two family dances)
  • Teacher Appreciation Lead (Organize Teacher Appreciation activities)
  • Social Events Team (Organize school social events)
  • Social Media Lead (Maintaining weekly social media posts regarding school activities)
